Hunk in Boardies

Feminine Pegasus Tattoo

While a very feminine and girly winged horse, or Pegasus, this is also a well done and clean tattoo.  The mane and tail are flowing lively – the wings are fantastic, with great looking feathers.  In fact, the wing pressure appears to have dislodged some of the feathers and they hang in mid air whimsically.  The horse’s body has great movement and it does a good job of showcasing the head, legs and tail.  It is oh so girly – but manages to be fun and pretty at the same time.  The colors are very well blended, with great white and blue on the body.

Maori Tribal Tattoo

This tattoo of a face looks to me like a Maori Tattoo, in the New Zealand tradition.  Of course, traditional Ta Moko or Maori tattoos, could also be found tattooed onto the individual;s face and not just an image of a face.  Ta Moko was a history of that particular person’s achievements as well as showing their status in the tribe.  It was seen as a huge honour for people to have and display Ta Moko and it was worn by men as well as the women.  Those of higher rank were allowed to have the markings on their faces.  This tattoo is a bit of the best of both worlds.  It shows a face…without the added pain of actually being on their face!  Great symmetry and line work make this a very solid tattoo choice.

The Phoenix

The mythology surrounding the phoenix relates to the rebirth of all things.  When something supposedly dies, it is often simply a transformation from what was, to what it now will be.  The phoenix is said to burn up in flames at the end of its life, then to be reborn from those ashes once again to its full glory.  The tears are supposed to have healing powers, as well.  It is a bird of strength and intelligence.  In addition, it was supposed to be very beautiful as well.  The flames beginning to engulf this phoenix frame the main image well.  The feathers are really well done and the tail has a peacock feel to it.  Love the look of the head and the placement of the claws, too.  It is flapping amidst the fire, yet clearly not afraid.

Wisdom In Your Hand

There was not any description as to what the tattoo was meant to signify…but it certainly speaks to me of the never-ending chain of wisdom that is passed from one generation to the next.  Year after year, the knowledge of the ages has been given to each person from someone else, usually through stories or myths and fables of one kind or another.  The point is, we have all learned from the spoken word  or been communicated to on some level regarding life and our place in it.  This clever tattoo seems to represent this chain.  Each man speaks in turn to the next – on and on, until the end.  Nice details throughout make this a very interesting tattoo!

Tattoo Design

What a great tribal pattern tattoo.  I’m not sure if the roman numeral 13 is intended to pay tribute to the miniseries (about a conspiracy theory involving a man with a XIII tattoo) or the video game (which was based off of a comic book series about a man who awoke with no memory of who he was) or are meant to symbolize something else completely.  No matter though, it looks just perfect in the middle of that sun design.  The edge of the pattern along the shoulder is too cool.  Love all the different patters and how they are layered throughout the entire design.  A tribal tattoo that is awesome to look at.

Pregnancy Tattoos for mom

Pregnancy Tattoos 1This kind of tattoos are called Ainu. Tattooing has been designed quite differently in the past, and in some cultures, it retains its primary function and that is protection. Tattooing has been used for protection rather than decoration, particularly for protection during pregnancy and childbirth when the woman is exposed to many risks.
During pregnancy, the net-like pattern of the tattoo would be to extend through the stomach confidential, and the numbers god sometimes protected women during childbirth, were tattooed on their thighs. All this was intended to keep children healthy in the womb and to protect the mother and child during pregnancy and childbirth. Hey, if you do not have a doctor, you have to do something, right?

Japanese Dragon Tattoos - Tips for Finding the Perfect Dragon Tattoo

Don't get Japanese Dragon Tattoos until you read this. After reading this short article, you will be more well informed and able to make a better choice when selecting your Design.
Let's begin. The dragon has long been an important symbol in Japanese mythology. The Japanese dragon is a fascinating creature with the head of a camel, eyes of a hare, horns of a deer, scales of a carp, paws of a tiger, and claws of an eagle. Additionally, Japanese dragons also commonly have long whiskers and a jewel under its chin.

Many people are attracted to the allure of these mystical creatures, but few people truly know what they symbolize. Japanese dragons, like their Chinese counterparts, are distinct from Western dragons. Whereas in Western culture they are depicted as evil and malevolent, dragons in Japanese Mythology are viewed as guardians of the imperial families. For this reason, many people chose the Japanese dragon to serve as a guardian and protector. In Japan, a dragon is normally called "Ryu" (You might recall Ryu from Street Fighter). These mythical beasts command a high level of respect since it is believed that the first emperor of Japan was descended from a dragon. In Japan, these creatures are also viewed as gods of lighting and thunder.
Popular locations for Japanese dragon tattoos include full back and upper arm designs. For upper arm designs, the dragon typically wraps around the arm, with the head extending onto the chest or back region. This however should not limit your decision on where to place this tattoo. The style and location of your design should be personal and unique, as these factors will ultimately determine the meaning of your tattoo.

Skull Tattoo Designs
I recommend the skull design for anyone, no matter if it is your first or 20th tattoo. This design, though it may seem generic to some, is very popular for a reason. This reason is because it looks great! The old time look of a skull tattoo design is sure to turn some heads and get the attention to your ink that you want.

Now, about where to find the best tattoo skull art. Printable tattoo design databases are what I believe to be the only way to get the best designs. You could look on search engines and try to find pictures of tattoos, but your tattoo artist won't be very happy. The biggest reason why I like these databases so much is because of the quality printouts they can give you. You won't have to worry about a bad design and thus a bad looking tattoo.
